Strongest results ever for Telio
- Operating profit of NOK 5.3 million in 4th quarter
(Oslo, 12 February 2008) Telio, a leading European provider of broadband telephone service, continues to deliver profitable growth and reports record results for fourth quarter 2007. Revenues for the fourth quarter reached NOK 94.3 million, a 20 per cent increase compared to the same quarter last year. Operating profit was NOK 5.3 million compared to a loss of NOK 13.7 million in the same period last year.
– Fourth quarter 2007 represents the best financial performance ever. 20 per cent growth in revenues, improved gross margin and continued scaling of operating costs gave very good results in the last quarter of the year. Strong customer intake in the third quarter contributed positively to the good results in the fourth quarter, says Eirik Lunde, the CEO of Telio Holding ASA.
At the end of the fourth quarter Telio had 144,800 subscribers, a net increase of 4,200 compared to the third quarter. For 2007, Telio had a net increase of 19,200 subscribers.
– A solid product offering and continued focus on customer service give us plenty of new subscribers. At the same time we experience existing subscribers as more loyal, says Lunde. – It is also nice to notice that the Telio subscribers are the most active and make the most phone calls, and thereby save more money by using broadband telephone, says Lunde.
Focus on the business market
Telio launched their broadband telephone service for businesses towards the end of the third quarter and is now seeing the first results of this offering. The launch has been well received by the market. The company has passed 1,000 lines to the SMB market and has great expectations for the further development of the business market. Telio has analyzed this market thoroughly and sees it as a large and untouched market with a great growth potential.
For the fourth quarter the Telio Group posted revenues of NOK 94.3 million, compared to NOK 78.9 million for the same period last year. EBITDA was NOK 17 million (18 per cent margin) compared to a negative EBITDA of NOK 130,000 for the fourth quarter last year. Operating profit was NOK 5.3 million compared to a loss of NOK 13.7 million in the same period last year.
Solid growth in 2007
For 2007, Telio achieved a growth in net revenues of 25 per cent to NOK 362.3 million. EBITDA was NOK 63.7 million (18 per cent margin) compared to an EBITDA of NOK 19.6 million in 2006 (7 per cent margin). Operating profit was NOK 14.2 million compared to a loss of NOK 16.7 million in 2006.
