Telio ended 2008 with record revenues and profits
- Revenues of NOK 100.4 million and operating profit of NOK 21.7 million in the fourth quarter
(Oslo, Norway, 12 February 2009) Telio continues to deliver strong results and confirming their position as a leading European provider of access independent broadband telephone services. For the first time, revenues were above NOK 100 million in the quarter and the operating profit of NOK 21.7 million is the strongest ever (NOK 5.3 million in the same quarter last year). The year 2008 is ended with revenues of NOK 384.4 million (362.3 million in 2007) and operating profit of NOK 68.1 million (NOK 14.2 million2007).

Success in international markets
Telio also delivers strong results in the markets outside Norway. Denmark has experienced healthy customer growth throughout the year, and the figures for the fourth quarter show a 61 percent year-to-year increase in the customer base. Telio continues to strengthen their presence in the Dutch market, both through positive developments within existing wholesale agreements, and through the agreement with Pretium Telecom BV. The agreement was signed in October 2008, and the project is being implemented according to plan. This agreement positions Telio as a leading White Label vendor for access independent broadband telephony – a market poised for growth across Europe.
Telio launches video telephony for the residential market
The market for video telephony and conferencing is growing, and will continue to grow rapidly in the years to come. Telio is developing a solution for the residential market, and plans full product launch during the second quarter. The solution is developed in close cooperation with LG in Korea, and offers the customer high quality video and wideband audio. Telio has great confidence in the success of this service, and anticipates exciting future developments in the market for video telephony.
Strong financial results
For the fourth quarter, the Telio Group achieved revenues of NOK 100.4 million compared to NOK 94.3 million in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA was NOK 31.8 million (32 per cent EBITDA margin) compared to NOK 17 million in the year-ago quarter (18 per cent EBITDA margin). Operating profit was NOK 21.7 million compared to NOK 5.3 million in the year-ago quarter.
